908.1 Animal Control on School Grounds

ANIMAL CONTROL ON SCHOOL GROUNDS

The Estherville Lincoln Central Community School Board of Directors recognizes that city ordinances pertaining to animal control shall also apply to school district grounds.  As such, the following points shall be enforced on school grounds:

It is unlawful for any person who possesses, harbors, or is in charge of any animal not to immediately remove excrement deposited by said animal upon school district property.

It is unlawful for any owner of any animal to allow or permit such animal to pass upon the premises of school district property thereby causing damage to, or interference with, the premises.

It is unlawful for an owner of any animal to allow or permit such animal to cause serious annoyance or disturbance to any person or persons by frequent and habitual howling, yelping, barking, meowing, or otherwise; or by running after or chasing persons, bicycles, automobiles, or other vehicles.

It is unlawful for any owner of person having the care, custody, or control of any animal to allow such animal to run at large on school property.

It is unlawful to allow any dog, cat, or other like animal on school property unless such animal is on a leash.

The school district track is off limits for individuals walking or running their dog or other like pet.

School district activities including but not limited to football, baseball, softball and track events are off limits to pets such as dogs, cats, or similar animals.
